in an interview, ben van berkel reflects on the events of the past year and the impact of the pandemic on the urban context.
the clients, who work in the film industry, commissioned the architects to convert the disused cellar into an elegant projection room.
the residence is topped with a large roof that is supported on thin steel columns.
the highest level of the house is occupied by a studio space to encourage solitude and reflection.
Well, it is beauty, but as cold as a freezer…
Astonishing amount of subtlety and restraint for a Catholic church, if it wasn’t for the statues and crucifixes I would have mistaken it for a protestant one!
that kind of constructions normally had have many details, but in this case this construccion is simple, brilliant (the colors) (the engine) (everything) ; the details are simple and very rich to the senses, this church must not have many details, so it becomes much more incredible structure.
Very beautiful and simple……..
A very ethereal space. Minimal but not austere.
