jungle bubbles at luxury resort in thailand let guests sleep alongside elephants

guests staying at a luxury camp and resort in thailand now have the opportunity to spend the night in the company of elephants thanks to these ‘jungle bubbles’. the transparent structures are perched on raised wooden decks offering uninterrupted views of the elephants, as well as the lush landscape and the stars above. the accommodation is fully air-conditioned, offering 22 square meters of indoor floor space, a bedroom and living area, seating under the transparent roof, and an enclosed, nontransparent en-suite shower.

unfolding across 650,000 square meters of northern thailand’s ancient jungle, the anantara golden triangle elephant camp & resort is perched on a hill overlooking the mekong and ruak rivers. the jungle bubbles were custom designed by eye in the sky and have been constructed with high tech polyester fabric using exclusive précontraint serge ferrari technology. this has resulted in a setting where guests can enjoy an immersive, close-to-nature experience.

guests can purchase the experience as an optional activity and spend the night from dusk till dawn, returning to the hotel in the morning. rates start from 17,700 thai baht (approx. $585 USD) per night for two people and include a dinner basket; a fully stocked mini bar; 24-hour in-room dining service; and tea and coffee making facilities. the resort is famous for its camp that was set up to help elephants in need. the activities are designed to allow the elephant caretakers to raise the funds they need without forcing the animals into activities they might not enjoy.
