former tesla & spaceX designers create jupe, a prefab urban pod

previous spaceX, tesla and airbnb employees have released a sci-fi inspired cabin envisioned for short term stays. dubbed jupe, this prefab urban escape pod has been designed to offer dwellers an escape from the dense, urban areas for the wilds of nature. shipped as a flat-pack, the tent can be assembled in a few hours and are USD$17,500.

jupe is supported by interconnected and durable aluminum masts which make up its illuminated and distinct geometric shape. its unique shape and angular surfaces resemble a cut diamond or an interstellar shuttle which embraces the beauty of patina and utily, with every unit made to wear with grace. each one features an 11-feet heigh ceiling that allow users to comfortably occupy it. its 111-square-feet are cloaked in a high-quality, fire-resistant canvas grounded by finished baltic birch wood tile-flooring.

beyond an ample interior, side windows heighten the sense of openness, providing cross-ventilation and natural light. the unit’s front-facing facade can open into a single large panoramic window to take in awe-inspiring wideangle views. splashes of warm desert tones enliven a minimal aesthetic that merges contemporary and functional design. upon entering a jupe, travelers are welcomed with a queen-size bed equipped with nectar mattresses, a designer desk, chair and ottoman.
