this geometrical home sits unobtrusively in a residential suburb in the city of toki, japan. designed by kazuki moroe architects, the charred-timber property faces a main road that was once used as a highway connecting to toki station.  rising as rectangular volumes that form the residence, a square loggia protrudes from the front façade forming a balcony and providing privacy. the interior is organized as a series of different leveled platforms. due to the parking lot on the east side, the level of the dining kitchen is raised by 1.2m forming the arranged platforms. maximizing the internal programs, they are each set at different heights, this has subsequently resulted in the communal living, dining and kitchen to receive plenty of natural light and feel open.
