kissmiklos has designed the ‘CAT bar and dance club’ located in downtown budapest, hungary. the main concept behind the project was to create an eclectic, appealing and cool interior as well as an unforgettable aesthetic. the resulting design combines colorful illustrations, memes and logos, all perfectly befitting the feline theme of the bar.

when developing the design, kissmiklos first collected lots of funny memes, colorful illustrations, cool gifs, sketches and other images of or about cats. after sorting through and rethinking the pictures, the designer and visual artist redesigned and redrew the selected images. the challenge of the project was to combine the various colors and materials, and at the same time meet the expectations of the bar and dance club.

with the literal application of cats, the interior design provides a sense of humour to the bar and club. from hello kitty to stacked maneki-neko cats, the theme of the place is showcased at every turn in a light-hearted manner. kissmiklos has even considered the smallest of details, such as the matchboxes and menus, to incorporate fun feline graphics perfectly suiting the CAT bar and dance club.
