lagranja design & tematic arquitectura redefine camping

Tematic Arquitectura, Lagranja Design Studio, and Valentina Greselin present a new generation of campsites at Santa Cristina and Cabo de Gata in Spain to redefine the idea of camping. The Wecamp developments integrate architecture and nature, with the structures complemented by bespoke interior designs that harmonize with crafted furniture selections — all tailored to the distinct characteristics of each location. Interior designers Lagranja Design approached the environment as more than a mere backdrop, utilizing it as a fundamental part of the architectural narrative. As such, Wecamp Santa Cristina and Cabo de Gata evolve into extensions of the natural landscapes they inhabit.

For each of the pieces, a bespoke furniture collection has been designed adapted to each of the locations. Some of these pieces, such as the Camp table and coffee table, made of saw-cut pine wood and aluminum and painted with vibrant colors, add texture and personality to the project. The Camp lamps, built with colorful PVC threads, infuse the project with a playful character.

the campsites integrate into the desert and forest landscapes

With architecture by Tematic Arquitectura, the campsites are located in two different landscapes: the valley of Santa Cristina in the Costa Brava, and edge of a fishing bay in Cabo de Gata, Almería. The project’s approach encompasses landscaping, camping planning, and site-specific interior design, resulting in a transformative camping experience that seamlessly melds with the natural surroundings. Internally, Wecamp adopts a distinct approach to the design of common areas to enhance the overall camping experience. From access and reception to community toilets, bar, restaurant, and activities spaces, interior design consultancy Lagranja Design infuses each space with a design that connects with the exterior.

Additionally, the team has reimagined Wecamp’s classic Mobile Homes and Glamping Tents. Mobile Homes are conceived as open wood structures providing hotel-like comforts amidst nature. In Santa Cristina their green tones blend the homes into the surrounding forest, while light and white tones in Cabo de Gata harmonize with the desert environment. The Glamping Tents, redesigned for a closer connection with the exterior, feature a wooden centerpiece housing the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen, connected to a spacious porch offering panoramic views of the bay.
