this summer house in skane, sweden was the first completed project by jonas labbe and johannes schotanus as LASC studio. the home is a conversion of an old farm house. most skane farmhouses have very few windows, leaving the interiors very dark. the studio decided to basically open up this farm house in the middle adding large windows to light the interior. inside, they removed two thirds of the walls and ceilings to open the space up further spreading the light around. the home features one large kitchen and living space on the main floor along with a library and bedroom. the upper floor features a lounge that leads to a small guest bedroom with a hidden door. the designers chose simple materials like concrete, pine, and white plaster to stay true to the home’s roots, enlivening it with vivid colours.
