RHO revives a loft as a content production studio

In western Berlin, German architectural studio RHO has breathed new life into the lofty interior of a water tower’s top floor. What once sat as a simple loft residence has now been revitalized into the dynamic , adaptable, and vibrant space for music and content production. Within the Watertower Studios, the design team has fused an eclectic blend of vintage classic furniture with minimal architectural enhancements, forging an environment primed for artistic expression. Various metal surfaces including aluminum foam panels finishing the bar front have been integrated, alongside a prominent latex curtain feature which enables flexible spatial zones, while injecting light, color, and a distinct character as a backdrop for creative developments.

latex and metal finishes infuse vitality to the minimal interior

RHO has sought to preserve the original structure while subtly introducing new spatial elements adapted for video, photo, and audio production. The design studio integrated a latex curtain that divides distinct areas within the studio, serving as a flexible tool allowing the space to be tailored to different needs. Beyond its spatial functionality, the curtain becomes a distinctive backdrop for visual productions, infusing an additional layer of depth and character to the environment. Adding character to the interior concept, the Watertower Studios is marked by an eclectic furnishing concept, showcasing an ensemble that bridges design classics of different epochs with contemporary design elements. This curation elevates the interior to an entirely new aesthetic plane to craft a distinct identity for the production studio.
