LUMIPOD cabin’s curved glazed façade immerses visitors in nature

unveiled last year, the first LUMIPOD cabins have been installed at 1,000 meters above sea level in a forest in the french alps. created by french company LUMICENE, the circular tiny houses use the company’s signature windows, wrapping them into a glazed façade that spans five meters in diameter and invites users to enjoy an immersive, unobstructed nature experience.

the LUMIPOD focuses on the essentials, presenting a minimalist layout that concentrates on the 180º view. encompassed inside a circle measuring just 5.45 meters in diameter, the pods have been design like a high-end hotel room, perfect for a short stay, including a bedroom, a toilet and shower. the curved LUMICENE window is set in aluminum frames sliding between two rails, allowing the interiors to be opened into the outdoors, abolishing the boundaries.

the LUMIPOD is equipped with a 5m diameter LUMICENE window made of curved glass

the LUMIPOD’s structure is made of steel to guarantee the level rigidity required by the LUMICENE window while the outside has been clad in douglas fir that has been charred using a japanese method to keep insects away. inside, light oak joinery and merino wool insulate the interiors while creating a warm atmosphere. prefabricated in france, the cabin can be assembled in two to three days and is perfect for those who want to build a hotel that connects people with nature.
