this two-storey residential property in são paulo features a permeable ground floor that can be presented in a variety of configurations using movable panels. designed by marcio kogan‘s architectural practice studio MK27, ‘tetris house’ is contained within a wooden box that shelters the washroom, the stairs, and a large dining room that opens towards the ample garden at the rear of the plot.

the ceiling of the living room, a slatted wooden lining – creates a cozy, intimate atmosphere, contrasting with the spatial sensation of the lot’s larger scale. the residence’s four bedrooms overlook the garden from the upper storey, while rooftop access is provided from an upstairs landing that also contains an area for study.

the interior’s stone flooring extends onto the external terrace and the same material on the inner walls continues out to the façade. when the movable panels are closed the sun’s heat is retained by the brise soleil, while the crosswinds continue to cool the home’s interior.
