this year, at the venice architecture biennale, swiss architect mario botta presents ‘the introduction into architecture’, a project developed together with the students of the accademia di architettura in mendrisio. the installation is an impressive timber structure hosting the students’ research.

‘the built-exhibit displays the works done by first-year students,’ explains mario botta architetti team. ‘the works are developed by groups of thirty-five students in five design studios coordinated by mario botta and assigned to young professors. four design studios develop the same educational theme, introduction to the architectural project, with different approaches and by means of small design exercises.’
