masquespacio designs restaurant referencing the ornate art nouveau style in spain

spanish design firm masquespacio, brings to valencia, spain, yet another captivating dining experience to life. taking from the brand’s strategy and value, the design for restaurant ‘piur’ expresses the fresh produce and innovative concept of the venue. the space is meant to bring joy and discovery to family and friends dining in the restaurant.

for the project, masquespacio’s concept references the valencian origins of piur’s founders and aims to become an attractive landmark within the culinary city. ana hernandez, creative director of the firm, states ‘we decided to pay tribute to one of the most important buildings of our city’.

valencia’s central market, built in an intricate art nouveau style, inspired the design of ‘piur’. the market not only represents the natural produce with the best quality, but also an important building in the city. the designers took the emblematic ornaments found in the market’s facade and turned them into the different types of lighting fixtures. this created personalized corners in the space, giving the users the opportunity to live a new experience every time they visit piur.

the designers recurred to materials that reference nature including wood and terracota tiles, for a warm and cozy atmosphere. the color palette equally is a reference to earth, next to a touch of red that symbolizes the color of the tomato as one of the main ingredients used in the restaurant.

the venue of 500 m2 was developed to offer the consumers a different perspective with every visit. this makes visitors live a unique moment that disconnects them from their daily routine, yet comforts them in a restaurant that feels like home.
