le monde d’hermÈs traveling kiosk sets up shop in dubai

After resting in iconic capitals such as Paris, Singapore, and London, Le Monde d’Hermès pop-up concludes its travels for 2022 with a final stopover in Dubai. Setting up shop in the emirate’s vibrant design district the hexagonal kiosk enlivens the square with a bold orange installation, evocative of the innovative spirit of the luxury fashion house. For an exclusive four-day experience, the pavilion conceived by local design studio MEAN* reimagined a quirky interpretation of the iconic Parisian newspaper kiosk to host an array of cultural and entertainment activities. A looping tessellation of H-shaped panels wraps around the structure, 3D printed from entirely recycled and recyclable plastic and boasting Hermès‘ brand identity and ethos with vitality.

MEAN* 3d prints hermÈs’ brand identity with recycled panels

For the next iteration of their traveling kiosk, independent fashion house Hermès, renowned for its vivid signature orange and responsible luxury fashion accessories, tapped Dubai-based MEAN*. Adopting a sustainable approach aligned with Hermès’ identity, the studio utilized robotic 3D printing technology to manufacture the H-shaped panels. The resulting abstracted pattern draws on the brand’s iconic logo and prints found in their creations.

MEAN* printed the panels in thick extrusion using 100% recycled and recyclable plastic that allows the kiosk to sit with a largely reduced carbon footprint. A more sustainable construction method than traditional ones, this reduces material waste and energy consumption. Further, composed of a kit of prefabricated parts, Le Monde d’Hermès Dubai was designed to be efficiently assembled, dismantled, and transportable for easy reuse at its next stop.
