delft-based practice mecanoo architecten have collaborated with royal haskoning and DS landscape architects to design ‘eurojust’, a new complex to join the hague world forum area of peace, safety and justice, which supports the activities for cross-border criminal matters for the europoean union in the netherlands. a dune landscape will interconnect the neighboring buildings creating a lush environment of gentle mounds covered with grass. respecting the historical urban context, the structure maintains the scale of neighboring villas and apartments. two levels placed underground including the conference center receive daylight through the void created by the sloping garden.

the facade is comprised of an alternating rhythm of open and closed panels, tilting glass panes upward, downward or to the right or left. diverse angles intermittently reflect the sky and vegetation to add a layer of depth. visitors enter a double height lobby with outward views to the garden and pond which reflects upon the ceiling of the atrium. connecting the public and private zones, a wide staircase with scenic views.
