nestled amongst the mountains of cusco, peru, otherwise known as the sacred valley of the incas, is the ‘KAI’ artist residency. designed by lima-based studio méctamo, the program is enveloped in a land of rich natural beauty and ancient cultural heritage.

 

the complex provides living and work facilities for four creatives at any given time, grouped in a cluster of buildings on a 2,800m2 plot. construction relies on local techniques and spatial organization — with updated sustainability measures — supporting the development of its inhabitants diverse artistic needs.
