the seemingly large ‘roll house’, designed by korean architect moon hoon, masks the slender depth of the property located in the city of miryang. the large street facing elevation and extended front wall exaggerate the structure’s size, and visually pronounce the building. upon entry, the living room, dining area, and kitchen are openly connected on the lower level, but spatially distinguished by changes in floor height. beyond, a staircase wraps around the rear of the residence, accessing bedrooms and a protruding volume at the back.

the perimeter of the front elevation’s geometry is expressed, which visually pronounces the building’s gesture of wrapping back on itself. an irregular window composition further articulates the façade, and reflects the layout of interior spaces. additionally, a roof patio provides an outdoor space for relaxation, and is accessed from the master bedroom.
