plenus inc.’s creative branding team commissioned naoya matsumoto to design their tokyo office. a district of the city predominately filled with tall buildings, matsumoto wanted to a clear, concise structure. each floor has a different function, which is specified by an individualized material and color palette. leaving the lift presents to the visitor a drastically changed environment, which is hoped to stimulate their brains and give them a boost of creativity. the main façade is created with brick, as is the first floor. it was chosen because the warm atmospheric qualities often associated with the material. it’s also long lasting, representing the historical and future strength of the company.
