based on a site branching off of the min river in fujian, china. NEXT architect‘s aim of the masterplan was to exploit the proximity of water by establishing a connection between the river and to as many buildings as possible. the main concept was derived by a hand touching the water, where each finger represents a stretch of the land reaching towards the river. this resulted in orientating the buildings to directly face the water.

the parking has been placed underground, making the streets between the villa’s lush green and pedestrianized. the properties range from being three to four storeys high depending on its orientation, on the street side, the villas are three floors, meanwhile towards the water-side, the villas are four floors high. presented with private pools to landscaped ponds, the architecture aims to optimize different views over the river and the mountains on the background. the shifting of the volumes create a variety of different outside spaces and the apartment towers and hotel, each have their own specific architectural language.
