NL architects studio visit

designboom recently visited the amsterdam-based office NL architects where our editors received a first-hand glimpse into the creative process behind their innovative and unique portfolio of work. heavily rooted in model-making, the firm employs 3D printing to study the forms of their buildings and projects. their method of design begins with interpreting the client’s needs and optimizing what is already an inherent part of the problem at hand. teaming with the client, they explore what is possible by compressing contextual factors into the design. analyzing the brief initially places the project on track and the enthusiasm of the employees together add the playful elements found in the architecture.
