nonna design + kaleidoscope architects refurbish home in scandinavian style

local-based nonna design teamed up with kaleidoscope architects to design and furnish a private apartment in valencia, spain called ‘avenida cataluña home’. the customer, a family with two children, challenged the designers to create of their apartment, a comfortable and spacious place with plenty of light. these requests led the concept into the idea of generating a nordic style to encompass the house.

the concept for the design follows a nordic style

to take advantage of the space and create continuous surfaces, nonna designed and built a set of custom furniture that satisfied the needs of the client. these fittings combine different woods and finishes and include the paneling, the hidden doors, the kitchen cabinets, countertops and bathroom furniture. the lighting design of the home includes various recessed profile lights that not only gives a comforting light, but adds a contemporary touch.

the use of white, grey and wood can be found throughout the home

as for accessories and details, few of them are placed and only on specific parts

the furniture pieces were customized and built for the apartment and customer’s needs
