the onigiri house is designed by japanese architecture firm nks architects. located in iota, japan, the home is made entirely from sustainable harvested local cedar wood. the home was designed for space efficiency, and is modelled after the japanese snack of the same name. it is built on a raised platform which protects the home from the region’s occasional flooding. the space pulls light from its open ends and large interior windows at the peak and floor level.
