porto-based firm OODA has begun ‘benguela 88’, a 26-storey residential structure within benguela, the second largest metropolis of angola.staggered rectilinear volumes are stacked like blocks and elevated with structural columns to generate interstitial outdoor spaces along its height.horizontal voids reveal unique terrace spaces protected by overhead floor plates or vertical chasms produce open-air atriums which are shieldedfrom the sun’s rays. trees and green areas fill these areas, bringing residents a connection with nature in an urban environment.
