OW arquitectos integrates an open pavilion into a private tennis club with a synthetic grass court in the south of mexico city. the pavilion is designed to face north, emphasizing the field, and witnessing each game from any point. at the same time, the project respects the existing vegetation, taking form according to the location of the main trees.

‘138 CDT’ tennis club by OW arquitectos holds a contemporary and straightforward style, giving prominence to small details. the pavilion takes shape as a horizontal metal structure supported by circular columns; a parota wood pergola wraps the main hall supplying warmth and functionality. meanwhile, art and design pieces from artists maría garcía ibáñez, manuel muñoz, omar wade, and abel zavala in collaboration with design gallery ángulo cero, clad the interior.
the pavilion includes dressing rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining-living room, gym, and machine room to service the field. the closed volume functions as a dressing room area highlighted with a volcanic stone covering. the kitchen, living, and dining zone shares functionality, emerging as an open and spacious area. furthermore, a vertical lattice composed of glass and wood divides the gym area, while a 10m long sliding gate at the front façade controls the opening towards the gym to provide privacy.
