for one week in may, a group of 80 recent architectural graduates took part in the fourth ‘picnic at the temple’ workshop in sicily, italy. this year’s theme, ‘building natural ii’ is an attempt to immerse student in the reality of the environment, encouraging them to examine building practices and explore nature. through a series of workshops led by renowned architects, designers and creators, students made rapid prototypes of structures using only nature. they also produced a newspaper, video, photography and mounted exhibits. the event was organized by nowa (navarra office walking architecture) with erremix officina paesaggi in movimento. the event was founded by marco navarra, who also co-curates the event with author alessandro rocca.
