built in just four months, indonesian practice PT bamboo pure erected the ‘millenium bridge’ connecting buildings on the green school, bali campus (see designboom’s earlier coverage on the school here) to the outside world. the name is meant to remind everyone of the eight ‘millenium’ goals the school is built upon. 192 bamboo poles, representing each of the 192 countries, constitutes the entire structure with a final layer of thatch to cover the walkway. all the components were payed for through donations by local parents and community members with their names engraved into the beams.
