presented as an entry in the 2014 edition of the solar decathlon europe, ‘ressò’ is a strategy of urban, social and energy regeneration, as well an important a teaching tool. completed by students from escola tècnica superior d’arquitectura del vallès (ETSAV-UPC), the project serves as a meeting place for neighbors to share local resources. this saves both energy and money as activities take place in this collective space, rather than within individual residences.

furthermore, the architecture’s flexible scaffolding structure allows the building to host a variety of different activities. modular components, consistently measuring 2 meters, allow the change or insertion of new elements, while a perimeter ring contains the building’s walls, facilities and furniture. alongside roof top solar panels, high levels of insulation and passive bioclimatic strategies are employed to ensure that the project is almost entirely self-sufficient.
