designed for a couple who were in search of a simpler existence away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this dwelling by reyes ríos + larraín arquitectos offers suburban living complete with an elongated swimming pool. spread across two levels, casa GG15’s ground floor contains a kitchen-diner, a double-height living room, an en-suite guest room, and a covered terrace overlooking the garden. upstairs, the master bedroom adjoins an elevated terrace, while a private study is also provided.

within the design, two major trees were preserved and incorporated as elements of articulation between the house and the rest of the property, with internal living space oriented towards the garden. the limited range of materials used — tiled flooring, hardwood stairs and integrated bamboo louvers — lends the home a sense of vernacular cohesion, with locally sourced components used throughout.
