the scheme seeks to integrate building and landscape through the successive framing of community spaces with garden elements. the community plaza at the heart of the design is bordered by a series of lush terraces sloping towards the adjacent waterway. in turn, this is outlined by a porous perimeter of platforms holding a variety of community functions and flora.

ramps connect the public gardens with food courts, cafés and shops spilling out onto the neighboring terraces. overlooking the communal spaces are outdoor areas for dinning, education centers and polyclinic rooms. the project is currently under construction, and is scheduled to complete in 2017.

‘our design is conceived as light and open frame that captures and accommodates the diverse programs for the community, it is an architectural framework for communal life to unfold in,’ explained christopher lee, principal of serie architects.
