‘libertango’, designed by seungmo lim, is one of the rooms of a boutique hotel located at gangnam in seoul. the motive of the room came from a woman dancing tango, a bullfighter waiting for a duel, and a black bull. the image of a seductive red dress, a bullfighter in a traje de luces decorated with golden embroidery, and a black bull staring at the capote (red fabric hanging on a stick used by bullfighters) reflects the passion and tension the room portrays.

the room showcases passion and tension
the twisted stainless wall that confronts people once they open the door from the corridor and the white lighting coming from behind the furniture and ceiling, creates a feeling of a room that shuts down time and space. when entering, passing through the entrance tunnel, the guests feel a strong directional force of diagonal lines that dominate the room, imposing an order for each subarea, through color and materiality. a golden curtain flows along the ceiling, diving the room and breaking the angles with its soft curvature.

a golden curtain flows along the ceiling, dividing and smoothly integrating the space
the depth feeling of the L-shape shower room provides comfort to users thanks to the music that resonates perfectly throughout the room thanks to its shape. the moveable table made of steel is designed to be put back into the wall. the white table rising from the white floor is integrated into the wall.

white recessed lighting is complemented by warm spotlights

the color palette consists of passion red, pure white, and bull black

when the curtain is closed, the room acts as a single space

a red sofa is incrusted into the wall design of the room

angles and geometrical twists set the mood

the room has some areas where black dominates, and others where white does it
