‘pure crystal’ by korean studio seungmo lim is a boutique hotel in jongno, seoul in south korea. a sparkling resonance fills the room as it contains delicate crystal textures with integrated furniture features. the continued smooth surfaces flow throughout the 31sqm space, merging the edges of furnishings together to create a level of flexibility. projections of light onto the walls also helps to blur the vague boundaries between the forms and connect the geometric volumes together. the interior consists of an l-shaped feature, which contains multiple functions including the bed, sofa, table, and bathroom fixtures, all arranged as if one structure. the pink-colored bath tub is positioned between the bedroom and bathroom to join them, while also determining each as a separate space at the same time. the patterns across the floor, contours of the design and louvres in the ceiling evoke a calm, fluid atmosphere.
