new york-based pracitce SHoP architects has revealed the first image of ‘340 flatbush avenue’ — a supertall skyscraper planned for downtown brooklyn. new york YIMBY reports that the tower could rise to a total height of 1,000 feet (305 meters) dwarfing its surrounding context. SHoP are again collaborating with developers JDS, who are also behind the firm’s 111 west 57th street project. the scheme’s residential component will incorporate 550 units across approximately 90 floors, spanning a total of 466,000 square feet. the development also includes 140,000 square feet of commercial space. ‘340 flatbush avenue’ has a tentative targeted completion date of 2019.

  • How neat?! It’s cool to see Brooklyn starting to morph.
