six n. five unveils ‘the revolt,’ a digital work of architecture envisioned in meticulous detail. the studio first began the immersive project early in 2020 to push its boundaries and craft a new way of experiencing space. the work comprises a three-minute video of the two-story house, realized entirely in CGI animation, which can be explored in virtual reality through an oculus headset. while the space is calculated and immaculate, some household objects have revolted, escaping their role. the incredible undertaking was a new experience for the team, who comments: ‘it wasn’t easy, it died and revived many times, but is here!

empty and immaculate, ‘the revolt’ by six n. five is a measured and calculated space, interrupted by a collection of animated, revolting objects. these escaping objects occupy the house that is otherwise filled with intentionally and meticulously placed furniture pieces — without utility, the work celebrates smoothness and perfection. the revolt contrasts the calmness, perfection, and light-filled interiors. used, left aside, and hidden as if they were shameful, the revolting objects break into the aseptic landscape and take it by storm. six n. five elaborates: ‘a blow worthy of a class struggle, where a useful minority rebels against pretension and sets out to tear down its symbols.’

six n. five comments on the spirit of the revolt:hidden behind the story of this revolution, just like the objects that rebel, there is a parallel with our present day: was it digital art that was hidden, forgotten, concealed and avoided? surely not for artistic or functional criteria, but for the fact that its works, created with digital tools, do not meet the demanding standards of the physical and tangible world. the paradigm shift towards digital media may have had some influence, and perhaps we are also facing a new revolution. what if this revolution has already started with the NFT?

the team continues:in the face of the growing popularity of crypto-art, will the value or importance of material art change? what happens now that digital art is itself a currency, a token? in this way, revolt shows two kinds of revolutions: one of material objects and the other of art, as the short film itself is a piece of digital art telling the story of a blow against ‘high-end’ tangible things.’
