sky-frame’s frameless windows stage transformative dance performance above los angeles

sky-frame’s boundless glazing at the cole residence

In their latest film titled ‘Sky-Frame Metamorphosis,’ the Swiss frameless sliding door specialist takes us on the Cole Residence, situated high above Los Angeles, to showcase the boundless qualities of their glazing solutions. Sky-Frame uses modern dance to bring this transformative feeling of freedom to life, depicting the oversized windows as the perfect backdrop for a performance that dynamically stages the building and its surroundings.

when oversized windows blur inside and out

‘Sky-Frame Metamorphosis‘ portrays an attitude to life that the brand aims to convey with its products. How we look at our environment, how we move within it, and how we shape it is influenced by architecture and the design of the buildings we live in. Up on the Cole Residence in Los Angeles, the oversized windows of the Swiss company form the perfect setting for a dynamic dance performance. Stirred and moved by the boundlessness of the ever-expanding glass front, a mythical creature emerges from its cocoon during the dance, breaks free and transforms into an ethereal creature. The boundaries between outside and inside become blurred, and the house’s protective shell opens into the landscape and the sky.

dancing through weightlessness, boundlessness, and freedom

According to Sky-Frame, buildings are also expected to cocoon us, providing a sense of safety and security. But there is an inside and an outside, and both areas are clearly demarcated from each other. Spaciousness and aesthetic appeal are emphasized by architecture that removes these boundaries. In the film, a frameless window concept is used as the central design element, allowing perspectives to merge and create a feeling of weightlessness, boundlessness, and freedom.
