nestled between a mountainous landscape in spain with uninterrupted views towards the lush greenery and the sea, ‘casa toll’ by RGB architects takes form as an L-shaped residential structure. located in altea, a small village in the province of alicante, the dwelling follows the sloping context and generates continuity with the surrounding, in an attempt to reproduce ‘the movement’ of the mountains that flank it. while distant views opening towards the sea, the dwelling guarantees certain privacy with respect to the adjacent house.sloping 'casa toll' by RGB architects emerges from spanish mountainsideall images courtesy of mayte piera

the residential project by RGB architects articulated by clear ‘L’ shape floor plans, holds a longer form on the first level than on the second, in order to dematerialize the total volume. besides, the architects sought to blend ‘casa toll’ with the mountains, resulting in forms with a marked slope, which provides a great dynamism. meanwhile, the dwelling can be discovered as inhabitants approach it and walk through it.sloping 'casa toll' by RGB architects emerges from spanish mountainside

as it is situated in the middle of the mountain and the street is in the upper part, the access to the house is made from an upper covered mass that contains the stairs and the elevator. upon entering the covered level on top and driving downstairs, the occupants meet the second floor which includes the rooms, and the corridor that connects them. there, natural light penetrates the interior thanks to a large glass opening.sloping 'casa toll' by RGB architects emerges from spanish mountainside

then, descending further, the residents face the first floor, featuring the day area with the kitchen and a large living room. here, its absence of structural pillars allows a direct connection with the outside area. furthermore, the continuous glass enclosures provide users with a view towards the countryside and a visually pleasing pool.sloping 'casa toll' by RGB architects emerges from spanish mountainside
