located in hangzhou, china, sò studio has envisioned the interior of a new retail space for sports brand PEU À PEU, which is owned by JNBY. the project makes reference to the interaction and movement that occurs on a sports field and at the heart of the design is a movable installation. comprising of a system of pulleys and steel racks, large metal spheres – inspired by the contemporary pop artist jeff koons’ balloon series – gently move around the room, becoming the focus of the space.

the space covers a total floor area of 753.5 ft2 (70 m2) and is characterized by a cool material palette. metal finishes sit alongside grey colored floors and walls, resulting in a futuristic and almost industrial atmosphere. sò studio has also incorporated a detachable racking system that divides the room into different areas while also holding the reflective balls that move around the shop.

the sporting aspect of the brand is shown throughout the design. metal display units evoke the image of gym equipment while silver soccer balls decorate the wall space. overall, with the combination of grey hues and metal finishes, the design of the interior results in a cool, pared-back aesthetic for PEU À PEU.
