line architects creates 'soft loft' interior in moldova using subtle contrasts

line architects has created a living space for a young creative couple in chisinau, moldova. the ‘soft loft’ apartment is located on the top floor of the building and offers impressive panoramic views of the city. the character of the interior is based on soft contrasts where coarse and soft textures are combined harmoniously, using simple materials and cold and warm shades.

the space is divided into several functional zones, each with its own secluded terrace. the common area of the living room is designed by line architects with an island sofa and projection area on the wall. the dining room, comprising an unusual table for seven, and the minimal kitchen are combined into one open space. the private bedroom area is designed as a single and secluded space for two, where the bedroom is combined with a bathroom and dressing room. the most prominent feature of this room is the tree trunk which defines the spaces while also creating a subtle contrast between materials. overall, the design uses subtle contrasts in tones to create a contemporary apartment for the young couple.

  • It’s nice. I like the use of materials. …but, you have to be young to have your bathroom and bedroom occupy the same space.
