multidisciplinary architecture firm starsis has installed two shipping container to redesign this homely korean residence. previously, this house received little to no light and insulation, where the pre-existing containers were left neglected creating a more desolate atmosphere. by slightly repositioning the containers to the south, an abundance of light was introduced to the house, maximizing the natural light.

by positioning the second floor container box in the same direction as the first floor, the architects maximizes the building’s form

additionally, by changing the shape of the windows and the positioning of the containers, the overall shape of the rural residence was given a unique characteristic. large, bold windows were installed at opposing ends of the container, creating a sense of flow and spaciousness. the roof, adjacent to the containers, includes a large terrace suitable for barbecues and festivities.

insulating material maximized the effect of the double windows

  • This home is amazing. I really love the details. Easily one of the best container homes I’ve seen, hands down like 6:30 .
