in another project taken from his recent book ‘le petit pari(s)’, french architect stéphane malka has envisioned a nomadic micro-city described as a ‘voluntary ghetto’. in a direct response to the global economic downturn and the last century’s increased reliance on mass production, the structure not only incorporates outlying spaces, but also upscale volumes through the use of an active system.

mounted on scaffolding, the structure comprises a modular system of footbridges and public spaces that can be readily adapted to suit a variety of urban configurations. the scheme, which is entirely run by its residents, is organized around multiple activities that include residences and offices, positioned alongside art galleries, recording studios and night clubs.
