taking advantage of lima’s unique climate, studio arthur casas has completed a study of a residential highrise that encourages year-round outdoor living. located in the middle of the desert, temperatures in the region are constantly mild with almost no rain. consequently, the design fully integrates internal and external program with a simple structural form positioned between the ocean and a local golf course.

the client had asked for a large variety of interior plans, so the design team proposed eight different typologies – ranging from a townhouse at street level to a triplex penthouse. variations occur throughout the tower with larger units occupying a single storey, and simplex and duplex residences positioned laterally. each apartment is envisioned as a complete house suspended above the landscape below. the chosen materials for the project are common to the region, with cumaru timber complementing the scheme’s astute use of concrete.
