designed by studio puisto, ‘dream hotel’ serves as an extension of a existing hostel in the finnish city of tampere. located within an old industrial building, individual rooms are placed as separate units within the open plan floor space. to ensure affordability, the compact rooms accommodate only essential amenities, while space to read, relax and meet others guests is found outside the private dwellings.

about half of the rooms have a view of the passing street, while the other units are organized in clusters in the middle of the floorplate. in addition, there is a kitchen area as well as meeting rooms at free disposal for the guests. natural materials have been used in order to ensure a warm and peaceful atmosphere, while a sisal fiber floor covering has been used for the carpet.
