studio puisto designs space of mind, a modular lightweight cabin

studio puisto has completed a new modular cabin dubbed space of mind on a remote mountainside in porvoo, finland. highlighting flexibility, the cabin can be adapted to a variety of different uses — from a spare bedroom to a gym to a home office.

initially developed in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, state of mind by studio puisto is a spatial solution for everyone, for everywhere. thanks to its modular design, it can accommodate a variety of different uses with a set of attachable custom furniture to choose from, rendering any space a reality. each space of mind cabin arrives at the site fully assembled and can be easily installed with minimal disruption to its surroundings. in fact, in most cases, a building permit is not required.

above all, space of mind is extremely versatile and adaptable. it is light enough to be moved by a small crane or helicopter and can be placed on almost any location. as a massive timber construction using ecologically sourced finnish wood, the cabin remains comfortable the better part of the year, staying cool inside during warm days and warm during cool days. with the optional floor heating, it can also occasionally be used during sub-zero temperatures as well.
