studio razavi remodels haussmanian apartment for young couple

located in a neighborhood of paris, a small 80 sqm apartment was renovated for a young couple — both passionate collectors — by studio razavi. the existing context is that of a 150 year old haussmanian apartment with a rigid design and architecture. the aim was to disrupt the strict layout and ‘invade’ the space with vibrant designs — ultimately revealing the inner qualities of the space.

romeo and juliet?

fort his project, studio razavi developed programmatic clusters that respond to specific needs of the young couple — creating a landscape inside the apartment and modifying the perception of this very classical parisian layout.

elijah, the dog, happily nestled in its totem house

all millwork within the apartment is wood fiber panels provided by valchromat. fiber panels were selected not only for being compatible with the project cost but also for having a great flexibility of use (field cutting, on site finishes & repairs were made easy). they also offer a variety of colors and can be easily repaired if scratched. on the other hand, the kitchen back splash is made with marble patchwork of smaller pieces –taken from leftover stones found in a marble quarry in portugal.
