transformed from its concrete bunker origins, the ‘connoisseur gallery’ by shanghai-based firm studio twist delineates a wide range of dramatic art objects within one setting. displaying an eclectic collection of exotic pieces, the vaulted roof structure helps to unify the entire space, while still allowing each piece to stand out on its own, without either over or under-stating the works in relationship to one another. re-interpreting a typical stage layout, a grand staircase morphs into an intimate bar enclosure, where one can still absorb the surrounding opulence. evoking a sense of luxury, the theatrical atmosphere of the gallery is further enhanced through the use of materials and lighting.
