there are three themes that define casamaki sushi bar in pescara, italy. designed by studio zero85 the restaurant uses the street food and market culture of tokyo as its primary reference. evoking a overlapping landscape; this is defined by the roof lines created by the series of thin, house-shaped frames that forms a transparent partitioning between tables. versatility is another component that the design team took under consideration. the modular seating can be reconfigured to accommodate different numbers of people – from intimate two persons to larger group meals and a counter that allows diners to eat, while facing onto the open kitchen. the aesthetic of japanese food is addressed by the subtle nods to material, linear forms and neutral to warm colors and in addition plant boxes have been installed to the frames of each house-module.
