designer's own words:

h1 is a handle characterized by its soft but rigorous shape, which aims to go beyond the traditional perception of the “handle object”, formed by a “lever element” coupled to a “rose element”. its shape is derived from a simple section, which has an upward concave curve near the connection to the rose and a downward concave at the opposite end. a peculiarity of the object is the continuity of the shape between the section on which the hand is placed – and serves as a lever to open the door- and the section which is shaped to become the dowel connecting it to the cylindrical rose. furthermore, considering that the section of the “lever handle” is connected to the rose, (which covers about two thirds of the lower rose’s surface) that enhances the visual perspective of the “proper handle” as it is the only dynamic element of the function of which it serves.
