london’s sir john soane’s museum will begin hosting a new exhibition on june 20 focused on the neues museum project by david chipperfield architects. the exhibition, ‘the neues museum, berlin – restoration, repair and intervention’ will continue until september 6, 2008, about a year before the new museum is set to open to the public. the original neues museum was damaged during world war II and has been in the process of restoration since since david chipperfield architects were commissioned to rebuild it in 1997. the exhibition in london will focus on the process of the restoration rather than the infill of its missing parts.
