amsterdam-based architecture studio thewaywebuild introduces its mobile ‘forest cabin‘ retreat. the tiny dwelling is designed as a meditative space for quiet living within its natural context, sited at a campsite known as ‘het bos roept!’ within north holland’s robbenoordbos forest. characterized by its exposed structure, the project is expressive of poplar timber arches which generate an interior dome structure and offers a chapel-like atmosphere. the design team comments on the concept which initially drove its design strategy: ‘escaping the constant bombardment of media updates, emails and phone calls, the forest cabin retreat allows guests to soothe stress and make them feel fresh to meditate in a peaceful environment.’

with its minimal footprint, thewaywebuild introduces its tiny ‘forest cabin’ retreat as a space for guests enjoy the tranquility of the forest. the team of designers at the amsterdam-based architecture studio elaborates: ‘there is space to meditate, write, draw and create things by using materials found in nature, allowing them to let go of the external world and reconnect with their souls in nature’s wild perfection.‘ the wooden cabin is built with sustainable methods and inclusive of necessary essentials for comfortable living, even with a reduced environmental impact. the fifteen square meter space includes a fixed bed, small kitchen and a wood burner. while the dwelling features a compost bathroom, the campsite offers a communal bathhouse with shower.
