paris and tel aviv-based studio toledano + architects’ clients, a young israeli couple, wanted an apartment that would make the most of the space but also allow them to integrate the third bedroom in the future. the use of very few materials and clean lines combined with a generous living area enhance the feeling of space. still, intimacy is preserved in each of the bedrooms, overlooking at the centenary trees outside. meanwhile, modularity is a keyword in the design of this tel aviv loft.

all the surfaces in the living room were left in raw concrete, while the central module — the box — and the kitchen in front of it are covered in white oak and reflective, custom brushed stainless steel. a continuous white lacquered bookcase links all the parts of the living area and creates various storage systems.
the box is a fully functional object — it encloses the children’s bathroom, clothes and household linen storage and a bench for the dining table. the kitchen is also modular: the back unit opens or closes completely allowing to hide the mess and the household appliances when needed.
