colombian architect tomas santacruz was selected as the winner of AC-CA’s ‘tokyo music centre’ competition. his concept is a four level structure, which besides a large auditorium, includes a café, restaurant, and multiple practice and changing rooms. the structure is defined largely by its cantilevered wooden roof, which gives the building a sense of lightness in contrast to its actual size. located in a crowded area of the city, the ‘tokyo music centre’ features unique interior and exterior spatial combinations that connect with visitors in many ways.
