usuki house by tonoma architects

‘usuki house’ by japanese firm tonoma architects is built around an existing main building and barn. the house consists of two volumes, each two stoey’s high connected through a wooden balcony.

at first, when guests walk into the entrance hall of the south side, gentle light comes in the corridor. there is a tokonoma on the south side and courtyard on the north side in a japanese-style room of the west entrance. in the kitchen there are large windows looking out into the courtyard.
